How much does a CASp Inspection cost?
The cost of a CASp inspection depends on the scope of service. A small retail facility without parking or restrooms is very limited compared to a large lodging facility with many areas and elements within the scope of inspection. The cost of a CASp Report & Certificate for a small to medium size commercial facility typically cost between $650 - $2,000.
What are the fees for other CASp Services?
Proactive Access LLC provides more accessibility related services than just CASp inspections. Our firm is experienced with performing plan review services for projects that are in the design phase. Plan review is a great opportunity to identify areas of improvement before construction has been started. It is much easier and cost effective to make a revision to architectural drawings rather than making changes to elements that are already constructed. For this reason, accessible plan review is highly recommended during the planning stage of construction. We also routinely perform Path of Travel surveys and due diligence reports for new purchases and leases.
The fees associated with each service are dependent of the scope of work. When you contact our staff, we will ask for all of the relevant information needed to provide you with a clear and accurate quote.

How to choose a Certified Access Specialist?
First understand that the quality of a CASp Inspection Report is not well regulated by the Division of the State Architect. When hiring a CASp inspector, you should expect to receive a detailed CASp report including: code citations, as built dimensions, photographs, diagrams and a straightforward recommendation for remediation of each finding. Unfortunately, we have seen competitor reports that are completed in excel and nearly impossible to interpret. The easiest way to determine if you are working with a quality CASp inspector is to ask for references, sample reports and proof of insurance. You should also look to your estimates and contracts to evaluate the quality of their work. If you are presented with a simple word document or quickbooks estimate with a poorly defined scope of work, the report will likely yield the same quality.
