CASp Report prepared in accordance with CRASCA
A CASp report which entitles the owner with special legal protections is prepared in accordance with the Construction-Related Accessibility Standards Compliance Act (CRASCA). A CRASCA Report contains required information about the inspected facility, the CASp Inspector who evaluated it and critical details for each finding contained within the report.
CASp reports are not created equal and any Certified Access Specialist can inspect a facility and provide a written report. Receipt of a written inspection report by a CASp Inspector does not necessarily entitle you to the legal benefits provided by the State of California. If a Certified Access Specialist provides a written report but does not meet the minimum CRASCA requirements, your facility will not be protected. Our CASp Inspectors are very experienced with CRASCA Report preparation. In addition to meeting the minimum requirements, we go above and beyond by providing detailed and easy to understand reporting. We never use Microsoft Excel or spreadsheets for our reports. Every finding in our reports detail: each violation in layman’s terms, code citation, photographs, diagrams and recommendations for remediation.
In this field, you often get what you pay for. If you are considering hiring a CASp to survey your facility, be sure to ask for a Sample CASp Report. A poorly written report will not only be confusing to interpret but it could leave you exposed to a construction-related accessibility lawsuit even though you thought you were protected.
